Custodian & Contacts
The primary contact at Ekati is Rob MacLean,
GIS and Projects Technician.
A second contact for this work is Grant Lockhart, an exploration geophysicist for BHP-Billiton who works out of the
Ekati diamond Mine. Grant and Dave Synder (POLARIS Lithosphere project) have one of the POLARIS stations
located at the airstrip at the mine where there is reliable A/C power and a heated hut. We would need to discuss
possible interference of electronics, but it should be an ideal set-up for you. Its location is 64.6985 N, 110.61 W
We recieved a letter of support from BHP Billiton Diamonds Inc. in March 2003 stating: "We commit to providing
transportation from Yellowknife to the Ekati Diamond MineTM, and room, board and technical support while on-site".
While we have not yet asked for a site custodian it looks very promising that we will have no problems locating a skilled
candidate.
