Program Overview

NORSTAR consists of three CCD-based All-Sky Imagers (ASIs), four Meridian Scanning Photometers (MSPs), and 13 riometers. There are plans for seven more ASIs. The ASIs and MSPs collect data at four auroral wavelengths (471, 558, 630, 486 nm), at a cadence of 10-60 s/image. The RIOMETERs operate at 30MHz and 0.2 Hz.
